The St. Barnabas Committee will meet each month on the Wednesday before the Vestry meeting throughout 2007. The next meeting is 10 January at 7:30 p.m. (See calendar at right). Issues addressed at these meetings will include such items as outdoor lighting and sign improvements and stocking the nursery, classrooms, and kitchen. Please note that this is an open meeting and interested persons are requested to attend.

St. Thomas a’ Becket is hosting a women’s quiet day retreat on Saturday, 20 January, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Donald Krickbaum will lead a retreat with prayer, quiet time, meditation, and Eucharist. The Reverend Krickbaum is a member of the Commission for Spiritual Formation in the Diocese of West Virginia.
Please bring a brown bag lunch. A continental breakfast and drinks will be provided. A $5.00 fee is being requested to cover a portion of Reverend Krickbaum’s expenses. This fee can be collected on the day of the event, but we would like to have a count of possible attendees. If child care is needed, please let us know. The Brotherhood of Saint Andrew and the Daughters of the King, Hannah Chapter, elected their officers for 2007. Both groups are dedicated to prayer and service activities in the church and in the community.
Bill Saviers was elected President for the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Chris McCallister will continue as secretary, and Bill Trimbach is the new treasurer. Carol Rogers will serve as President for the Hannah Chapter of the Daughters of the King, Nancy Cotten will serve as Vice Prsident, and Marilyn Blake will continue as secretary, Judy King as treasurer.

Safeguarding God’s Children: A program of sexual misconduct prevention training is being offered by the Episcopal Diocese of WV on the following dates: 27 January at St. Timothy’s Hurricane; 24 February at St. Thomas a’ Beckett, Morgantown & St. John’s, Huntington; 21 February at Zion, Charlestown & St. Stephen’s in Beckley.
